International Covenant: An Important Guarantee of Human Rights

Today, 28 August, the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: 60 Years of Development and Contemporary Trends.”

During the event, participants thoroughly discussed the 60-year development of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, international standards for ensuring the rights and freedoms enshrined therein, specific features of national legislation, and current trends in this area.

The roundtable was attended by Nizomiddin Akmaljonovich Gafurjonov, a doctoral student at the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who shared his views and reflections on the topic.

The event enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the protection of economic, social and cultural rights at both international and national levels, as well as to exchange views on contemporary approaches in this field.
