The scientific activity of the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel is aimed at enhancing scientific capacity in the field of “jurisprudence” in Uzbekistan, training highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel — Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctors of Science (DSc) — in post-graduate education institutions, conducting scientific research and applying its results to all branches of legal science. It also focuses on establishing cooperation with higher education and research institutions, state and economic management bodies, other organizations, as well as leading foreign higher education and research institutions.
Conducting scientific activity and research is one of the core functions of the Institute’s academic staff, independent researchers, and doctoral students.
The Institute’s scientific activity and research are carried out in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, the Presidential Decree dated February 16, 2017, “On Further Improvement of the Postgraduate Education System”, the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 304 dated May 22, 2017, “On Measures to Further Improve the Postgraduate Education System”, the Presidential Decree “On Additional Measures for Radical Improvement of Legal Education and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the Presidential Decrees “On Approval of the Concept for the Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” and “On Approval of the Concept for the Development of Science until 2030”, the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution “On Measures to Organize the Activities of the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the Ministry of Justice Board’s Decision No. 6/25 dated April 21, 2025, and other legislative and regulatory documents.
